Source of Income Protection

Source of Income (SOI) Protection Ordinance

Source of income is how someone receives money to pay for things like rent or their mortgage. This can include housing vouchers, disability-related assistance, child support, and many others that do not strictly come from an employer.

In Tucson, Phoenix, and Tempe, these various sources of income are now protected under local fair housing laws. This means a tenant, or prospective tenant, cannot be denied housing because of how they receive their income.
